Blue Ribbon Project
Time & Location
About The Event
Join us on March 14th, 1pm - 3pm, 45 Community Place, Crownsville, MD 21032, to help organize the shelves/items at the The Blue Ribbon Project headquarters. This event will be hosted by our own, Jimmy Howard, who volunteers for & supports The Blue Ribbon project regularly.
Often times when children are placed in foster care they aren't able to take many, if any, of their own belongings. To add insult to injury, the few items these children have are often thrown in trash bags. This is where The Blue Ribbon Project's "Backpacks of Love" steps in to support these kids entering care on a moment's notice. The Backpacks contain essential necessities for kids of all ages who are entering the system. Each backpack is designed to be gender and very age specific. These backpacks include such things as a toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, children's soap/body wash, children's shampoo, changes of clothing for the child's age, personal clothing (underwear, socks, pajamas), and age appropriate books and toys.
